Holly Speaks Charmed Changes
With Charmed entering its fifth year, the two remaining original stars of the show - Alyssa Milano and Holly Marie
Combs - have become producers to the show, shipping in a myriad of changes. A number of the crew were replaced with new members,
with Holly Marie Combs noting that the housecleaning "is making the series look 1,000 percent better. We stole cinematographer
Jonathan West away from 'CSI,' and I tell you, he makes us all look 10 years younger. Production values have improved more
than I can say."
She can't say she's happy that Charmed kicks off the season on September 22nd, however, stating "We
were supposed to debut for the fall on Sept. 29, but in some kind of brilliant counter programming or something, they moved
us up - to compete against the Emmys! The network seems to feel our demographics won't be watching the Emmys, but I think
they're wrong." She thinks the WB powers were more than right to be moving the show to Sunday nights at 8 p.m, though. "Nothing
could be worse than being on at Thursdays at 9, as we were. On Sundays, the pressure is off."
Combs also revealed that
the WB wants to get at least another couple of years out of Charmed. Will she stay until the end? "Absolutely," she confirms.
"There's a bad karma thing attached to actors -- like David Caruso or Farrah Fawcett -- who leave successful shows to do other
things."
